hi there 🍊

this is a little thing i’m working on. i want to write a book. i want to build an audience for that book. i also want to send out little notes to my friends sometimes.

ABOUT ME: my name is becca, i’m 24 years old, and i’m a lesbian. i enjoy pirates, poetry, and pretending to understand paintings. i like to write and hike and take my dog for walks. i watch a lot of muppet movies. i use she/they pronouns. i’ve been writing stories since i was in fifth grade (my first ever original story was about a detective team comprised of a unicorn, an alien, and a hamster. they were solving a case about art theft. i was both the author & the illustrator.)

ABOUT THIS: i went through a lot of my poetry books to find a name i liked for this, and found it (of course), in anne carson’s sappho translations, if not, winter. the quote comes from Fragment 96: “But now she is conspicuous among Lydian women, as sometimes at sunset the rosyfingered moon surpasses all the stars. And her light stretches over salt sea equally and flowerdeep fields.”

WHAT TO EXPECT: irregular emails. life updates, probably. if i get lucky, book updates. occasionally, some original short stories. besides that, photos from my life. book reviews. poetry i liked. songs i’m listening to. if you want, you can reply! i always love hearing other people’s thoughts on things i’m thinking about.
